Have you ever met someone and you get that instant negativity in that person?
Has your phone ever rung and you know whose calling?
Have you ever had a chance to make a choice and your instincts led you to choose the right one?
These happenings may have something to do with third eye.
We all have surely heard about this, but…
What is really a third eye?
For Andye Murphy, “The pineal gland is a pea-sized gland shaped like a pine cone, located in the vertebrate brain near the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. Also known as the third eye, it is a revered tool of seers and mystics and considered to be the organ of supreme universal connection. Its significance appears in every ancient culture throughout the world. For example, in Ayurvedic philosophy, the third eye is represented by the Ajna chakra and in Ancient Egypt, the symbol of the Eye of Horus mirrors the placement of the pineal gland in the profile of the human head. The third eye is connected to clarity, concentration, imagination and intuition.”
“The pineal gland represents the third eye in biology, which produces melatonin. Melatonin controls circadian rhythms and reproductive hormones. This makes the pineal a master regulator of time, affecting not only our sleep patterns but also our sexual maturation. Melatonin also affects our stress and ability to adapt to a changing world. This third eye activates when exposed to light, and has a number of biological functions in controlling the biorhythms of the body. It works in harmony with the hypothalamus gland which directs the body’s thirst, hunger, sexual desire and the biological clock that determines our aging process.”
Why should we awaken the third eye?
Andye said, “A blocked third eye or ajna chakra is said to lead to confusion, uncertainty, cynicism, jealousy and pessimism. Through an open and vibrant third eye, the highest source of ethereal energy may enter. While the physical eyes perceive the physical world, the third eye sees the true world — a unified whole with an unyielding connection to spirit. A list of the benefits and abilities the third eye brings include clarity, concentration, perspicuity, bliss, intuition, decisiveness and insight. The third eye has been linked to lucid dreaming, astral projection, quality of sleep, enhanced imagination and aura viewing.”
How can I awaken my third eye?
Paul Wezenbeek in his article entitled The third eye. What is it? What does it do? Where is it? mentioned some simple steps on how to open your third eye.
Step 1: Sit up straight in a comfortable positions
Step 2: Take a couple of deep breaths in through the nose, and make sure you breathe to your belly. And you then blow out the air through the mouth. Let tension leave the body during these exhales, more and more, until you’re completely relaxed.
Step 3: Once you’re done, become aware of the spot between your eyebrows, and then a little bit above them.
Step 4: Imagine an indigo blue ball of light, right in front of your third eye, see it, feel it…
Step 5: Take a deep breath and hold it. Then gently bite your tongue with your front teeth. During the entire exhale, make a THOHH… (Thooowww) sound. Once you find the right pitch, you’ll feel your third eye tremble. Repeat this six times in a row.
In opening the third eye, there are certain benefits. But, there are also side effects to consider:
- A light feeling of pressure between your eyebrows.
- Starting to picture things in your mind (or even starting to dream about particular things) before they happen.
- A sense that colors are brighter and that your environment is sharper.
- Feeling like you are changing on a fundamental level, even if you struggle to put it into words.
- More frequent tension headaches (i.e., headaches that feel like pressure on your temples or like a band around your head.
Developing the third eye is the doorway to all things psychic—telepathy, clairvoyance, lucid dreaming and astral projection. The illusion of separation between self and spirit dissolves when the third eye connection is cultivated. Metaphysical ways of being are connected to the third eye, such as how to be awake within the dream, to walk between realities and surpass the limitations of humanity.
